Today Station Master removed the circuit board of the ISS transmitter unit, cleaned it, replaced obviously faulty superconductor and sprayed the thing with electronics protection lacquer. Lo and behold–the circuit board booted alive! Obviously, no warranty can be given to this fix, but let’s hope it lasts until new hardware is available!

The sensor suite’s electronics have failed again. Probably the hour quota of the component just is completed.

Weather Station’s ISS transmitter unit came back online, completely out-of-the-blue. Maybe it has something to do with decreased humidity? How stable the functionality is, no one knows. Station Master is not very keen to invest in current Davis hardware, because new Weather Flow Tempest hardware should be shipping in November. The project has been delayed...

Starting yesterday evening, measurements went offline. Very likely the outside sensor suite’s transmitter unit has failed completely, first symptom being temperature drift that was compensated. Station Master is working on this.

After checking out situation with drifted temperature measurement, the drift seems to be constant. It must be due to some issue with Vantage Pro’s sensor mother board, because replacement sensor did not help. Sensor measurement is now calibrated in weewx software reading Vantage Pro, and published again.

Currently there is an issue with temperature measurement. Seems that after about 4 am today, temperature has started erroneously drifting upward. By the time of writing this, temp is about 5 °C above the true temp. Reason to the issue is not yet clear.

So far, Autumn has been very warm. These average temperature charts show clearly how much warmer it has been from mid-September until now, compared both with all time average and average temp of last year. Also day and night temperature variation has been unusually small.
